Indoor Apartment Garden

Starting my garden indoors at my apartment with balcony access.

On March 10, 2024 I started;

  • Microgreens, Hot Mix
  • Basil
  • Cilantro
  • Chives
  • Spinach

Items used;

  • Egg carton (germinating in my pantry first)
  • Glass jars
  • Rocks
  • All-Purpose Potting Mix
  • Tin

Originally, I only planned to hang the plants indoors. But, I’m going to rotate between the balcony space and indoors for now. Ready for spring!

I’m listening to more podcasts and “Pale Blue Pod” is at the top of my list.

Description: Pale Blue Pod is an astronomy podcast for people who are overwhelmed by the universe but want to be its friend. Astrophysicist Dr. Moiya McTier and comedian Corinne Caputo demystify space one topic at a time with open eyes, open arms, and open mouths (from so much laughing and jaw-dropping). By the end of each episode, the cosmos will feel a little less “ahhh too scary” and a lot more “ohhh, so cool!” New episodes every Monday.

Shifting from astronomy to astrology – here’s a link to my podcast, Gigi on the Sun. Plus a song I’m listening to featuring Supercoolwicked. A guest on my Libra episode.

In the City: Artifacts

Live from Detroit. Artifacts

A photo documentary chronicling the complex and innovative sounds of the Motor City.

Curated by: Carleton Gholz

Last night, I listened.

I listened to every photo.

I read the stories and felt the music.

In my notebook, I took notes.

About people, instruments and venues.

This will start a day of research in the future.

For now, I plan to keep listening, keep learning and to keep going.

In the City: Coffee Shop Chill

Where is your creative space?

Where do you feel inspired?

Intimate but individual space. That’s what I admire about coffee shops. Though, I would prefer some better music at my current location. I feel the same about cities, intimate but individual space. You’re surrounded by people, the hustle and bustle, but really everyone is minding their own business (hopefully). We are conscious of those around us, but are consumed by our own thoughts and agenda.

I’ve learned overtime (and still learning) to nurture people without invading their space. So, within the space I can focus at my own pace. When do you feel most energized? How do you recharge?

I’m excited to explore mine.

“I know I’m some shit and I’m cool with it

You can’t tell me shit, don’t come and share your dialect”

– Ridin Round, Kali Uchis

Tomorrow I’ll be dancing at El Club to Kali Uchis and it’ll be my first time at El Club (well, since it changed to El Club). My memory is horrible, hence the reason I like writing, but I think “Ridin Round” was the first song I heard from her.

I love her visuals, whether it’s her music videos or her stories on Instagram. I’m here for it. It’s also great to see her wearing and interacting with one of my favorite clothing brands, MATTE.

So, will I see you at El Club? Should I participate in this pizza I’m hearing about?

Four Years Later

What were you doing four years ago?

In 2013, I was a student managing a college radio station, attending my first coding class and keeping this blog up to date. I’m excited to be back here blogging.I was constantly producing content in college. I haven’t had a chance to appreciate it until recently.

My goal is to use this space for sharing writing, videos, audio and pictures. The theme? Well, in college I focused on my college radio show, Michigan Movement. For now, this is an open space.
